Console

Organisations, workspaces, keys, credit and usage for the hosted API.

The console is where you manage hosted API access: organisations and members, workspaces, keys, credit, usage and security.

Organisations

Everyone has a personal organisation. A team organisation has members, each with one role:

RoleCan manage
OwnerEverything
AdminMembers, keys and billing
DeveloperKeys and usage
BillingCredit and usage

Invite people by email from the console.

Workspaces

Every API key belongs to a workspace. Use separate workspaces for production, staging or each product. A workspace can have:

  • A monthly budget. A spend cap in pounds. When it is reached, the workspace's keys answer 402 with type budget_exceeded until the next month or until you raise it. Budgets reset on the 1st, UK time.
  • A rate limit per key. It replaces the default of 1,200 requests a minute.
  • A list of allowed models. Its keys answer 403 with type model_not_allowed for any other model.

Keys

Create a key in a workspace. The full key is shown once, so store it straight away. You can rename a key or revoke it; a revoked key stops working within a minute. A key can have an expiry date, and we email you 7 days before it expires.

Credit

Hosted usage is paid for with prepaid credit in pounds, from £5. Automatic top-up is optional, with an optional monthly cap. When credit runs out, keys pause and answer 402 with type out_of_credit until you top up.

Promotional and trial codes. A code adds credit with no card needed. Redeem it on the Billing page, or open the /redeem/ link it came with and sign in. Each code works once per organisation, and adds credit to the organisation you have selected. Promotional credit is used before credit you buy, and may expire: the Billing page shows how much is left and when it ends. See the terms.

Prices are per model and shown in the console. Myles-G 12B costs £0.0015 per million input tokens, with output free. Prices exclude VAT.

Usage

Usage is shown per key, workspace and model, by day, and can be downloaded as CSV.

Security

  • Two-step sign-in with an authenticator app is required to manage billing.
  • An activity log records every change in the organisation, and can be downloaded.
  • Keys found in public code on GitHub are revoked automatically.

Every error the API returns is listed in Errors and limits.
